MEFs are college fairs held throughout the state at high schools and other venues. They are a result of the collaborative work of MACAC, public and private postsecondary schools, and high schools. College representatives from postsecondary schools throughout the midwest and some other states attend.
The Minnesota National Fair, held each fall in Minneapolis, is one of the largest fairs of its kind and annually attracts representatives from over 300 different colleges and universities. The event also includes workshops on such topics as financial aid, writing application essays, and comparing college options. Some secondary schools arrange transportation to the fair for their students. Students and parents are welcome during the listed times. The National College Fair is free and open to the public. National College Fairs are offered annually at locations throughout the country, sponsored by the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) and regional associations like MACAC.
